The Old House – by Mursal
The Old House.
“Come on, James! Don’t be a chicken.” Peter started to do a clucking sound and moved his arms up and down like some mad, demented chicken.
“No! You know mum said not to go near that house. She said bad things have happened in there.”
“Don’t be daft. All mums say that stuff. No one’s lived there in years. It will be an adventure, James. We might even find some gold coins and become millionaires,” Peter boasted. James pondered this for a while and changed his mind at the thought of becoming rich. Reluctantly he joined Peter in the front garden and the two boys crept up to the front door. The door was ajar and Peter pushed it further open. They silently walked inside…
As Peter and James entered the house…BOOM! The front door slammed after them. Now they knew there was no way out.
James cried,” I told you Peter! Now look where you got us at.”
Peter said,” Calm down…Let’s just explore the place, maybe there is another exit?”
Both of them walked to explore the mysterious house….” AHHH!!” The boys stared at each other with shock and terror in their eyes. Bones and dead bodies were scattered across the floor of the house.
“Peter! What do we do now!!!” James screamed with horror in his heart.
Peter said, “I don’t know…What do we do now? Come on let’s just-“
Suddenly a rumbling could be heard,” Peter…. Who’s that…?

.and there was a black haired woman with a white dress and no eyes sitting in the corner of the room weeping. James instantly regretted listening to his brother and in a concerned voice said “I think we should probably go!”.
As soon as they were about to walk out the door the door closed and the women stood up. All the lights remaining lights went out and in a deep, blood curling voice said “Hello little children, at last I finally have some company”.
Peter was too shocked to speak. And suddenly he started being dragged into the darkness. He screamed “H-h-HELP ME JAMES!”. And then he heard chewing. He knew what had happened. His brother had been being eaten! He ran to the kitchen and peeked through a little crack in the door. His brother was being eaten. How could he save him? He scanned the area around him and saw a hammer. He also found a wrench and a key. He was planning to smash the door with the hammer. Suddenly there was a loud slam of a door and the sound of a door being locked and James ran to the kitchen. He used the key and to his surprise the key fit in perfectly. He had the wrench in his right hand (his strong hand) and was ready to attack. As soon as the door opened he saw the woman and ran after her. CRACK! That was the sound of bones breaking. James had hit the women in the head with a wrench! His brother was hurt and he was bleeding. He rushed him to the hospital and he survived. James said “Thank god you’re okay, we are never doing that again.”
Peter said “how’d you save me?”.
James said “I kinda uhh had to use some self-defence and hit the lady in the head with a wrench.
Peter said, “You did that for me after I nearly got us killed?”.
“Of course I would, you’re my brother”
The doctor walked in and said “You’re brother can go home now”. And they went home and lived their normal life again.

Surprise in the Old House

James screamed and shouted “IF I DIE YOU’RE GETTING THE BLAME”.
“Don’t worry,” smiled Peter, as he shot out some spider webs.
“You never told me you were spider man!” gasped James.
Peter grabbed James and using his spider webs, swung him safely out of the old house.
“I didn’t tell you because I like to keep my identity secret.” said Peter.
“I promise never to tell anyone,” replied James.

“I told you it was a bad idea!” James exclaimed.
“Don’t be a chicken!” Peter said.
The two boys carried on creeping through the dark, empty house. Suddenly, they heard very faint footsteps becoming louder and louder. They both ran the other way hoping to get home. As they tried to find the door, they heard a voice.
“I will get you!” screamed the voice.
The two boys stopped and turned around. To their horror, they saw a tall dark figure coming closer.
“Surprise!” said the tall dark figure taking off its cloak.
The two boys were amazed to see their mum.
“What are you doing?!” they cried.
“Teaching you a lesson,” smiled their mum.
